Synopsis

I’M STAYING is a new public artwork by Shaun C Badham, addressing ideas of place and change, permanence and transition. It will move around Bristol over a two year period. Initially displayed on the outside of the Arnolfini building, after which viewers are invited to vote online and choose the next site for the neon artwork to be installed. You decide where the work will travel next: your street, your work, your home?

Following over 900 votes from members of the public the artwork was turned on at its first publicly determined location – the Bristol Folk House – on the 12th May 2014. During the works tenure at Folk House the Bristol public are once again invited to vote for where the art work should travel next, after which the work will continue to navigate around Bristol until the next Bristol Biennial in September 2016 by which time it would have occupied nine locations.
